I'm planning to find an import and export agency to help me with my import and export business recently, but I'm not entirely sure what materials I need to prepare. I'd like to ask everyone, what materials are generally required for import and export agencies? Will there be differences in material preparation for different types of goods, such as ordinary daily necessities and electronic products? Also, will there be special requirements in terms of materials if the import and export countries are different? I hope to get a detailed answer, thank you!

Generally speaking, the materials required for import and export agencies may vary depending on the business situation, but common basic materials include:

Commercial documents, such as commercial invoices, which need to detail the description, quantity, value, etc., of the goods; and packing lists, which specify the packaging details of the goods.

Transportation documents, such as bills of lading, which are important documents for ocean transport, and air waybills for air transport, recording relevant information about the transportation of goods.

Customs clearance documents, such as customs declarations, which require accurate information about the goods, trade methods, etc.; and power of attorney for customs declaration, authorizing the agency to handle customs clearance.

Other relevant documents, such as contracts, which clarify the rights and obligations of buyers and sellers; and certificates of origin, which prove the country of origin of the goods and may grant preferential tariffs in some countries.

Ordinary daily necessities and electronic products have similar basic materials, but electronic products may require additional certification documents due to technical and safety considerations. Different import and export countries will also have special requirements, such as the EU's requirements for environmental directives related to electronic products. Specific details need to be communicated and confirmed with the agency.

In addition to what has been mentioned above, for specially regulated goods, such as processing trade goods, materials like a processing trade manual are also required. This manual records the detailed content of processing trade operations, such as the import of raw materials and the export of finished products, and is an important basis for customs supervision.

If the goods involve intellectual property rights, intellectual property certification documents must also be prepared. For example, trademark registration certificates, patent certificates, etc., to prevent infringement issues during the import and export of goods and to avoid unnecessary troubles and losses.

For some food products, health certificates, food label samples, and other materials are also required. Health certificates prove that the food meets relevant health standards, and label samples must comply with the importing country's regulations on food labeling.
