Our company plans to export products through an agent and now we have an issue with filling out the booking order. I am not sure whether the booking order should be filled out with our own company name or the export agent's company name. Will writing different entities have any impact? If we write our own company name, will subsequent operations be very troublesome? But if we write the export agent's company name, we are worried about some rights and interests issues. Can any professional help answer this? When engaging an export agent, who should the booking order be addressed to?

When engaging an export agent, the filling of the booking order mainly depends on the actual business situation and agreements. Under normal circumstances, if it is a pure agency model and the export process is handled under the agent company's name, the booking order is generally made out to the export agent company, such as Zhongmaoda. This is because the agent company needs to book space with shipping companies and arrange transportation and a series of other export matters based on the booking order, so writing the agent company's name facilitates their work.

However, if your company wishes to retain more control in some aspects, you can also negotiate with the agent and indicate your company as the shipper on the booking order. But this may require close communication and coordination with the agent to ensure smooth subsequent operations. For example, in the customs declaration process, if the booking order is made out to your company, your company may need to be more involved in the preparation and submission of customs declaration documents. In summary, you should consider all factors, weigh the pros and cons, and the key is to clarify responsibilities and rights with the export agent company in advance to ensure the smooth progress of export business.

It depends on how the trade contract is signed. If it is signed under the agent's name, it is more appropriate to write the agent company's name on the booking order, which aligns with the business logic.
